So I know that I said I would be able to say a lot more on Smiles to Go than what I did the first time, but that's not going to happen. The book itself was not hard to read or understand, but the part about protons, yeah that confused me. I did not understand why the main character was so obsessed with protons, or what there even was to obsess over! Protons, wow, so cool (that was sarcasm). So instead of continuing a post on a book I know nothing about because I stopped reading it, let's go to a book I actually enjoyed.
Dancing with the Devil by Katie Davis. Sounds pretty creepy, right? Sadly, it's not all that bad, at least not yet. This novel is about a girl named Mackenzie who has a love for biking, a dead mother, and who went through a rough childhood because of her grieving father. Mackenzie has been trying to get away from her father for a long time now, and has finally found her escape through a summer biking trip. The description makes this book seem like it is going to be really dark, so I feel like that is going to be happening very soon. So far in the book, it has just been a lot of rising action. I wish the story would hurry up so I can get to the juicy parts, but I guess that I just have to remember that slow and steady wins the race. All of this rising action is for a good reason. Part of the reason that I decided to start reading this was because in the description, the author said that it took her nine years to finish writing it. This fact made me feel like this novel would be really good because of how long it took for the author to finish it. So far, it hasn't been a disappointment.
